TODAY the world as we knew it changed! Many people looked up and were confused, many were afraid; but all were in awe at what they saw. Some said they knew it was coming while others quietly claimed to have seen it before. Many of the louder voices cursed it and called it an omen while some laughed and said they understood completely what it meant but wouldn't say. Others said there was no word to describe it, while a few brave souls stood up in front of the gathered multitudes and proudly proclaimed that they knew what it was; and to a hushed group they calmly explained that they were positive it was called the SUN. Twinkle twinkle little star I just found out you're much bigger than we are! We all know what stars are and how they come to exist and move through space only to eventually die. We know this NOT because we have made studies and calculations and worked tirelessly and faced public ridicule then in secret compared our hypotheses and theories with others doing the same type of study…we know this because everyone knows this - because of those that have studied and continue to study and have worked through stages of hypotheses and theories to present us with the scientific facts.  What we don't know NOW and may NEVER know is 'do stars think'

I've heard some say 'life is for the birds'…perhaps it is. Once I bought a parakeet at a discount store and they put her in a discarded shoe box marked 'Ladies Blue Oxfords'…so because she was blue and a lady it seemed logical to name her 'Lady Blue'; she was a good bird (I think) but she didn't talk a lot; I think it was because she was too busy singing. I never stopped to read the newspaper pages that went on the floor of her cage but I like to believe that she did so as to keep up with world and local events. She was a smart bird (I think) but I'm not sure because she never talked…she just looked around and sang. Perhaps that what we all
